BIGGREENPURSE.COM RECEIVES AWARD FOR
“BEST GREEN WEBSITE”
Founder Also Recognized as a “Trend Setter” in Sierra magazine
FutureNow’s First Annual Marketing to Women Awards has given BigGreenPurse.com the award for “Best Green Website.”
Said Holly Buchanan, the Marketing to Women guru at FutureNow , “I love this site because they make it easy to take simple, concrete actions to make a difference. With such a huge global problem, it's hard to feel like "little old you" can have any sort of an impact. Big Green Purse gives you specifics on small things you can do that can make a real difference. (Hint: You can start with your own purse.)”
The award comes as Sierra magazine’s January/February issue profiles Diane MacEachern, Founder and Publisher of www.biggreenpurse.com, as an environmental “Trend Setter.” MacEachern said she was honored and gratified that BigGreenPurse.com, launched April 22, 2007 (Earth Day), has been recognized by one of the nation’s most influential environmental publications, as well as experts in marketing to women.
“We set out to create a web resource that would save women time, reduce confusion about green living, and drive the marketplace to become more earth-friendly,” MacEachern said. “I’m delighted at the response the site has generated, and the recognition we’ve received in such a short period of time. Women can make a huge difference in protecting the planet. Through www.biggreenpurse.com, we’re making it easier for them to do so.”
Added FutureNow’s Holly Buchanan, “Congratulations again on a job well done. You make us all proud.”
The site’s companion book, Big Green Purse: Use Your Spending Power to Create a Cleaner, Greener World, will be published by Penguin/Avery March 1, 2008.
