Keep in Mind: ENERGY STAR refrigerators use at least 15% less energy than standard models.

• Refrigerators with freezers on top are more efficient than those with freezers on the side.
• Models under 25 cubic feet meet the needs of most households. Models larger than 25 cubic feet use significantly more energy.
• Look for heavy door hinges that create a good door seal.
• When you get a new refrigerator, recycle the old, inefficient unit rather than continue to use it in your  basement or garage.
